The BIPS association arose from the need to share knowledge and experience in the field of behavioral insights with others. In this way, solutions to social and political challenges are to be promoted. BIPS was founded in late summer 2020 by four colleagues with an economic, psychological and scientific background. The bodies work on a voluntary basis and do not pursue any commercial purposes. If you are interested in working with us, we look forward to hearing from you.

"Behavioral Insights" describe behavioral knowledge about human behavior. The research results from behavioral economics, psychology and social sciences can be used in practice to steer behavior and decisions in a desired direction. In this context, the term "nudging" has gained in importance in recent years. Nudging is based on the premise "Nudge for Good", which requires an exclusive application "for the good".

Strategies that are based on the principles of behavioral insights are by definition free of coercion and financial incentives. This means that the target persons remain free in their choice or behavior, which differs from traditional approaches that are based on rules or monetary remuneration. Behavioral insights are interdisciplinary, cause low costs and at the same time have a great effect and are based on evidence.
